Should I use biodiesel?

Biodiesel is better for the environment because it is made from renewable resources and has lower emisions compared to petroleum diesel. It is less toxic than table salt and biodegrades as fast as sugar. Since it is made in the USA from renewable resources such as soybeans, its use decreases our dependence on foreign oil and contributes to our own economy.

Why should a restaurant allow Trust Biodiesel to pick up their Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO)? Trust is a local non-profit company that makes their own bio diesel from WVO servicing small local fleets helping reduce costs and emissions in our area.  Most WVO is consolidated by large companies and sent all out of Michigan for use in cosmetics, fertilizer and feedstock.  The largest collector sends it to Canada to make  bio diesel in that country.

Helping Inner-city Children - Trust makes a donation for every gallon collected to The Potter’s House School.  This nationally recognized inner-city program graduates over 95% of its students and is well known for its excellence and results.

What is biodiesel?

Biodiesel is the name of a clean burning alternative fuel produced from domestic, renewable resources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. Our Bio Diesel can be used in compression ignition (diesel) engines with no modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics (using pure BioDiesel reduces emissions by 95% according to the Environmental Protection Agency).

Technical Definition: Biodiesel, n—a fuel composed of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats, designated B100, and meeting the requirements of ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials) D 6751. Biodiesel can be used as a pure fuel or blended with petroleum in any percentage.  B20 (a blend of 20 percent biodiesel with 80 percent petroleum diesel) has demonstrated significant environmental benefits with a minimum increase in cost for fleet operations and other consumers.  Trust Biodiesel Units create B100 that can be used in any diesel vehicle without modification.

Is it approved for use in the U.S.?
Biodiesel is registered as a fuel and fuel additive with the (EPA) and meets clean diesel standards established by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Neat (100 percent) biodiesel has been designated as an alternative fuel by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

“In an effort to save our trucking company we tried just about every diesel processor on the market. This processor was by far the easiest to run and yielded the best quality consistently. We're still trucking and now at operating costs we haven't seen in almost a decade! Thanks guys.”
